The Linc Hand Scholarship for 2013 Awarded to Alexis Gravlee

Last year veteran Hollywood actor and graduate of Corner High School in Dora, Alabama, Linc Hand established a scholarship fund to help aspiring actors at his alma mater. The CORNER THEATRE Academy within the school helps prepare talented students for professional careers both in and out of the acting world.

Linc Hand a young, talented actor has guest starred in various television shows including Justified, 90210, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Prime Suspect, True Blood, Southland and more. He also appears as Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Fritz Ostermueller in the upcoming movie “42” about Jackie Robinson’s first year in major league baseball.

His love of sports and his athletic talent drew the attention early on of a local modeling scout who cast Linc in local as well as national print ads. He later headed west to Hollywood where he began studying under legendary acting coach, Howard Fine.

Linc’s talents have been recognized by television executives and he is a favorite among television producers in  guest appearances. Linc is also the Audience Producer and a Recurring skit performer for ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Linc is very proud to have a scholarship for acting in his name from his hometown Corner High School to help benefit young actors and actresses. Linc says, “Dreams can come true if you find a way to do hard things.” Linc is also an alumni of University of North Alabama.

The first recipient of the Linc Hand Scholarship is Alexis Gravlee. Mike Putnam the Producer and Director of the CORNER THEATRE Academy said, “Alexis has a real passion for the arts, and it’s not just a high school gig for her.  She’ll be in it for the rest of her life.  She is directing the children’s theatre show this year, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” Mike continued, “Her strong work ethic will take her far, and she plans on applying the scholarship funds to pay for a portion of her college tuition.” visit www.cornertheatre.org
